goodbye thirty-two

today is the last day of my 32nd year, and as an homage, i’ve pulled together a list of 32 things that i’ve seen and done over the past year:

1. traveled to a foreign country.
2. saw the sun set from a roofdeck in baltimore.
3. reconnected with my best friend from college.
4. renovated my bathroom.
5. was given a holga (thanks sis).
6. saw the flying fish at the pike street public market.
7. started playing the piano (again).
8. watched a lunar eclipse.
9. ate at ruth’s chris. three times.
10. started blogging regularly.
11. purchased a 4GB iphone. right before they were discontinued.
12. watched the dancing fountains at the bellagio in vegas.
13. learned that much of life depends on good timing.
14. learned that i have generally bad timing.
15. discovered the best bakery ever (see cupcakes from said bakery).
16. met tori amos.
17. met charlotte martin.
18. said goodbye to a trusted mentor and friend.
19. discovered the joy that is jon & kate plus 8.
20. visited the grave of f. scott fitzgerald.
21. purchased a new imac.
22. started drinking coffee without sugar.
23. got a raise.
24. learned that it’s better to say what you feel than to live with the regret of not doing so.
25. met someone who could have stolen my heart.
26. had drinks with toronto’s juno award winning jazz pianist.
27. purchased a first edition, first printing of the great gatsby.
28. discovered beauty in new and unusual places.
29. traveled to three new states.
30. saw three rainbows.
31. drank coffee at the top of the seattle space needle.
32. learned that family and friends are what make life worth living.

it’s been a good year, filled with promise. goodbye 32, i’ll remember you fondly.
